About the Show

Contraband Television is a sketch comedy program that airs on
local access TV in Oxnard, California. We took the liberty of creating
a show that would push the boundries of good taste (we don't like
to march in our own parade, but it came out awesome). Fellow
filmmakers Ernie Vasquez, Gustavo Lopez, and Christian Chavez
came togehter at Oxnard College to write, produce, and edit the
show for an internship class in early 2008. The goal was to produce
a 30 minute variety show not unlike Saturday Night Live or Mad TV.

But the final incarnation of the show ended up being somewhat
different than what is seen on SNL. The premiere episode of
Contraband TV, dubbed
Episode One, was mostly made up of ad
parodies, fake movie trailers, and patented short shorts (sketches
less than 2 minutes long, and seemingly uncategorizable).

With one episode under their belt, the showrunners started work on
the much talked about season finale, dubbed
Episode Two.
Currently in production, the producers plan to dazzle the public
with an envelope-pushing show. Stay tuned!
