Late this spring, as a sign of God's approval to go on with the show, Contraband TV was blessed with some incredible news that it might be picked up by a larger network (we're not talking local access no mo' people) which will remain nameless for the time being. While the prospect is exciting, we don't want to announce anything until we hear something official. Besides, we're happy just broadcasting on local TV and the web, but the possibility does inspire us...
The show has also added some new faces to the 'band. Ryan Guillermo and Ernie Elizarraraz have agreed to give their souls to the noble cause that is Contraband TV. Ryan "Grind" as we call him, is no stranger to the show—he was the Table Dance Guy! He has recently moved back down to Ventura County to star and help produce segments for the show. His background includes business and marketing, as well as thrusting his crotch at random strangers. Ernie Elizarraraz, the second Ernie in the lineup, is our new much-needed director of photography. His background includes, well, photography. Any behind the scenes photos or production stills were taken by him.
We are more confident than ever that this team of individuals will outdo anything we saw in Episode 1. With diverse strong-suits in screenwriting, cinematography, editing, and producing, the end product will be nothing short of nut-shattering.
Also, since we're talking improvements to the show, Contraband TV has acquired alien HD technology. Just look for the "Now in High-Definition (where available)" logo, coming soon!
So enough updates, where does the show stand as of right now? Well, we're still shooting. "But you said that 6 months ago!" The first wave of segments —including "Sabotage" and "Rocket Power"—have been categorized as web exclusive sketches. We want to completely revamp our production value, and those segments just didn't make the grade (picky much?).
